What if immersive experiences didn’t require a VR headset?

This weekend I built a spatial web experience that uses your device’s camera to track your face and head movements, allowing you to physically look around and see deeper into the screen as if you’re peering through a window into another world.

To demonstrate the technology, I created a haunted mansion scenario where you’re hiding in a closet while a vampire stalks the halls searching for you. As you move your head, the perspective shifts in real time, creating a surprisingly immersive experience directly in the browser.

The vampire experience is really just a proof of concept for something much bigger.

I’m exploring how spatial computing can transform websites, digital storytelling, e-commerce, training, education, gaming, and interactive entertainment by bringing immersive 3D experiences to everyday devices—without requiring specialized hardware.

Now that the underlying technology is working, I’m considering turning this into a full choose-your-own-adventure horror experience where your decisions determine whether you escape… or become the vampire’s next victim.
